Awesome...thanks!

So the Type XXVIIB U-5350 was the highest number designation ever given to a WWII U-boat?

No

Groner lists the following Type XXVIIB Seehund boats as completed

U5270 - 5352 all completed 1944 (noted above)
U5353 - 5394 all completed 1945

and further numbered Type XXVIIB Seehund boats
U5395 - 5450 suspended/cancelled
U5451 - 5750 on order
U5751 - 6170 suspended/cancelled
U6171 - 6200 suspended/cancelled
U6201 - 6243 on order
U6301 - 6442 on order

German Warships of World War II states as to the Type XXVIIB Seehund
U.6201- 6245 "completed"
U.6246 - 6250 "cancelled"
U.6251 - 6252 "completed"
U.6253 - 6300 "scrapped incomplete"
U.6301 - 6351 "cancelled"

Awesome...thanks!

Were U-5188 through U-5193 also among the non-completed boats? The info skips them.

Are there commissioning dates available for U-5270 through U-5394 and U-6201 through U-6245?

TIA for any info on these questions.

They are not listed in Groner (volume 2 of English edition). There is a gap in his list of Type XXVIIB Seehund boats
U5004 - U5187 on order
U5194 - U5250 on order

And in German Warships of World War II:

XXVIIB Germania Werft, Kiel
U.5101-5250 cancelled

Are there commissioning dates available for U-5270 through U-5394 and U-6201 through U-6245?
Groner

U5270-U5394 1944
U6201-U6245 1945

German Warships of World War II

XXVIIB Schichau, Elbing
U.5251-U.5350 Completed
U.5351-U.5750 Cancelled

XVIIB Germania Werft, Kiel
U.6201-6545 Completed
