Correct Yiri, 1. this is Charles De Gaulle, 2. he did participate in the Polish-Bolshevik war on the front line for 2 months and was adwarded Virtuti Militari, 3. he was offered a permanent post as a major (don't know what "commander" is) in Polish army but rejected it and came back to lecture in Saint-Cyr military academy. Your turn to ask the question.

p.s. Why mention this in Poland thread? Why not? This short episode is little known yet had some influence on the future - for example De Gaulle was the last of post II WW western leaders to recognize de-facto dependance of Poland on SU.

Is this thread dead or is someone going to post a new question?

Wołyńska Brygada Kawalerii had 18 Bofors 37mm anti-tank guns at the beginning of Battle of Mokra. I know it was a hard question. The next one will be easier:

What Polish unit was known as the "Black Brigade" in the September Campaign?

Good afternoon, Budionny!

Yeah, your next question seems easier... :)
This is 10th Armoured Cavalry Brigade (10 Brygada Kawalerii Pancernej in Polish).

Best regards, Aleks

ORP "Bałtyk", earlier ex- french cruiser "D'Entrecasteaux", bought by polish navy in 1927. Served as training ship and hulk.
