During the Balkan Wars and World War she worked as a paramedic. During the Polish-Bolshevik War she was the top commander of the Red Cross. After the war she became a member of the board of the Polish Red Cross. In 1942 she was arrested and imprisoned for several months in Pawiak. After her release she joined the Home Army, receiing the rank of lieutenant AK. In September 1944 she was promoted to the rank of major. Because of her high social position and experience, (during the Warsaw Uprising,) she was delegated to talk with the Germans about the evacuation of civilians, which resulted in the withdrawal, from 8-10 September 1944 in Warsaw, 20-25 thousand people, mainly women, children and elderly. Also she participated in the negotiations on capitulation.

In 1945, she was arrested by the (Polish Communist) Citizens Militia on suspicion of collaboration with the Germans. For a month, she was held in Olkusz. In the years 1946-1958 she stayed abroad. She returned to the country. She died in Warsaw.
