What kinds of peace terms do you think would have been the bare minimum that the Anglo-French would have actually been willing to accept had France not fallen in 1940, Sid?

Apparently in July 1939 76% of French people were willing to fight and die for Danzig:
The public opinion polls aren't called rudimentary without a reason there. They were seriously flawed by today's standards and are considered to be of little value.

If Britain and France were willing to let Hitler return Germany to its 1914 borders in the east, why didn't they accept his October 1939 peace offer of his?

" Britain and France were willing to let Hitler return Germany to its 1914 borders in the east."
I don't think it's true.

You previously said this, though:
If it's a deadlock situation and the French aren't prepared to die for their political and military goals then obviously nobody gets anything.
The Germans aren't going to make any concessions motivated by goodwill, only a credible threat to their existence/independence could change their mind.

In this scenario obviously Poland isn't going to get anything. Most likely Germany will annex the corridor, Danzig, and the other territories Hitler annexed.
Because really who is going to stop them?
Or were you only talking about a deadlock situation here--specifically one that lasts for years?

It was a scenario forced by circumstances not a political goal. Obviously the goal was victory.

But just how committed would the Anglo-French actually be towards this goal of victory?
