Local members of the gendarmerie in Radomsko province.

Post by Camillus » 26 Nov 2022 11:16

Hello!

I am looking for information on members of the gendarmerie or other German formations in Radomsko, who came from the local German community. Before the war, about 3,200 Germans lived in the Radomsko district, whose ancestors settled at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. I am especially looking for information about Ludwik Konig and Gustaw (or Jan) Gutsch, who in December 1944 were to be awarded the KVK Cross, 2nd class with swords.
I am also looking for information about the further fate of the Radomsko starost Kurt Driessen (Kreishauptman) and the mayor (Burgermeister) of the village of Dmenin Johann (Jan) Kirsch, born March 18, 1901 in village Dziepolc (Dziepółć).

Thank you for help
Kamil

:welcome:
Kurt Driessen (Kreishauptmann)
You can find his biographical note in Markus Roth's Herrenmenschen: Die deutschen Kreishauptleute im besetzten Polen.
Some info:

Born 31 Jan 1906 in Essen
From mid-March 1945 in Wehrmacht
Captured by Americans and interned until early 1948
Died 23 Jul 1974

Thank you very much, but I have a question, has he had a trial in court?

Has someone got this book and can send me photo of this note? In Poland I think will be very difficult to get it.
