Polish Army Field Kitchens

#1

Post by sylvieK4 » 08 Jun 2004, 21:07

Were the field kitchens of the Polish army of the same design as those used by the German Army? In general, were these items manufactured in Poland? Does anyone know the names of the companies that produced the field kitchens?

Does anyone have any photos they can share of Polish Army field kitchens? Museum pieces or original photos of the kitchens in use?

Thanks.

Thanks, Mietek, for the link to the photos. It does look similar to the German design, doesn't it?

As for makers, I saw on another forum "Wytwornia Kuchen Polowych in Rzeszow". Has anyone else heard of this manufacturer? Was it the primary maker of field kitchens for the Polish Army?

Hi sylvieK4. :)

Actually field kitchens it's not my subject

I think after 1918 were used in Polish army Russian, Austrian, German, French and possibly other nations kitchens(USA, British?)

Only I found: comunist time kitchens: http://www.amw.com.pl/rsm_catalog.php?cRsmPath=17_43

and bread oven: http://www.amw.com.pl/rsm_product_info. ... cts_id=162

And modern one (producer's page): http://www.spomasz-znin.pl/wojsko/kp.htm

Bit off topic, but still polish kitchens

I couldn't find anything on www about producer from Rzeszów

 Well, its not exactly a hot topic in military/ historical research, so I can't imagine it is the subject of too many others, either!

Thanks for finding all the info and images that you did! :D

 Fact not popular, but without good field kitchens, warm food, place to sleep most regular armies cannot win. I think, for example during Stalingrad siege, working field kitchens would be more important for Germans than tanks.
