Re: French 75mm weapons
Can anyone clarify what 75mm caliber guns might have been used on the G1 tank had production proceeded? This site leaves me unenlighted on the question.

Hi ain92ain92 wrote:Hello.
What about "7.5 cm Flak M 36 (f) (Ex-french Canon mle 36)" mentioned in the Factbook? Was it Puteaux gun like Mle 30, Bourges like Mle 32 or Schneider like Mle 33?
The 7.5 cm Flak M36 (f) was the 75mm contre aeronefs Mle 32. The confusion was caused by the Belgian's who had the same gun but called it 75mm FRC Mle 36.

Thank you. How could we change the info in the Factbook?Clive Mortimore wrote: The 7.5 cm Flak M36 (f) was the 75mm contre aeronefs Mle 32. The confusion was caused by the Belgian's who had the same gun but called it 75mm FRC Mle 36.

Re: French 75mm weapons
The Polish Army could have had up to 1.374 75mm Wz.97 Field Guns (according to Wiki), I would have thought that they were all 75mm Armata Polowa wz.1897/17, but I have seen photos of Polish Gunners using the 75mm mle 87/33 (maybe called the Armata Polowa 75mm Wz.1897/33), if the poles did have 1.374 75mm mle 1897s, how many of them were actually the mle 97/33 versions.

Does anyone have the complete penetration tables for the 75mm L17 Sa35?

Re: French 75mm weapons
While reading a report of RACM in Indochina I see them mentioned OE17 RYG ammunition (or fuse) for 75mm artillery. Anyone knows which kind of 75mm gun it could be?
Re: French 75mm weapons
Does anyone have any problem with the following data? Both MVs produce 40mm of penetration at 400m.verdenpark wrote: ↑15 Jun 2018, 14:39Does anyone have the complete penetration tables for the 75mm L17 Sa35?
With a small cartridge 75mm it gives 475 m/s.
Ammunition :
Obus de rupture Mle1910M (APHE)
Caliber : 75x241R mm
Weight of projectile : 6.400 kg (90g explosive)
Length of projectile : 239.5mm
V° = 475 m/s
Penetration : 40mm /30° at 400m
The APHE shell is intended to detonate once the armor has been penetrated. Because of the necessity for a hard point to APHE shells, the fuze is fitted into the base of the projectile. This fuze acts through inertia. As the shell passes up the barrel, either the shock of firing or the rapid rotation removes a safety device and arms the fuze. This fuze contains roughly a weight held by a spring. When the shell hits something hard, momentum throws the weight forward so it strikes the firing element of the fuze and thereby ignites the HE filler of the APHE shell.
Obus perforant AL (Allongé Lefèvre) Mle 1916 (APHE)
Caliber : 75x350R mm
Weight of projectile : 7.445 kg (350g explosive)
Length of projectile : 348mm
V° = 575 m/s
Practical AT range : 800m
Maximum range : 9500m
Penetration : 40mm /30° at 400m

Re: French 75mm weapons
Thankyou for the information. I would have expected the latter to be higher given the extra 328 ft./sec. velocity. That is of course assuming the figure for the Mle1910M is correct.Mobius wrote: ↑23 Jan 2019, 21:17Does anyone have any problem with the following data? Re: French 75mm weapons
I'd expect you are correct if the shells had similar ballistics.I would have expected the latter to be higher given the extra 328 ft./sec. velocity.
The Mle 1910 quote matches that found on the old "Guns vs Armour" website.
Cheers
Re: French 75mm weapons
Best guess is that it is the same or a relative of the RYG wz 18 fuse used in Poland for the Schneider 75mm gun (and other weapons which used the same ammo and other ammo such as 81mm mortars)While reading a report of RACM in Indochina I see them mentioned OE17 RYG ammunition (or fuse) for 75mm artillery. Anyone knows which kind of 75mm gun it could be?
