Research on Somua S 35

Post by modelbouw nederland » 12 Feb 2020 16:35

Hello fellow forum members,

I'm wanting to do some research for my next scalemodelling project, probably the Somua S 35.
But I'm a little bit stuck with research on the internet.
I have already done a little bit of general research, such as reading Wikipedia article about the tank.
And typing in Google for example: 'French Tanks off World War II'. Or, today 'Combat History off Somua S 35.
But it seems to me, that I'm only getting general articles and bits and pieces off information.
The best sources I've visited so far, are tankarchives, tanksencyclopedia.

I'm wanting to know as much as I can before starting the new project.
And I'm in need off some help off finding good sources off information.
Getting more detailed information, like combat history orr details.
Maybe some good books to read.
Is it even possible to find detailed information online for someone that isn't an history expert?
And that just is interested in the information part, but that doesn't want to get to difficult?

I hope you can help me out,

I'd suggest getting a few books. These are a good start:

http://www.minitracks.fr/focus_ue1.htm
(If you happen to come to the Twenot meeting in Overloon this weekend I can bring them so you can take a look.)

@jpz4 Thank you for sharing those books for me, but I'm afraid that they will be probably not much use to me. Because, I can't read or do anything with the French language. I don't understand it and only looking at the pictures wouldn't make me that much wiser if you understand what I mean.
But thanks again to share this source off information with me.
