I bought Volume III from Military Press or some other incarnation of theirs, was going to get the one covering cavalry units. Looking forward to the new publications.

hello Lee

I hope the campaign plan for your serie still goes well for 2020

I wonder for the very interesting Volume VI part 2 Medical & Quatermaster services (2010), it was for lack of space you didn't precise more how/where was assigned each company pages 30-31 and 80?

59 Compagnies de COMA de RG page 30
-24 assigned to the Armies (8e 9e 10e under 9e Armée)
-12 to field bakeries
-14 to GRC
-3 to Stations-Magasins
-6 in Reserve

I identified the 1ère Cie maybe with Field Bakery (BOC)n° 1 near Crépy-en-Valois
23e Cie to BOC n°8 Dijon
13e was in Verdun, 15e located in the same postal sector than 10e, 19e Cie also in Meuse around Commercy St Mihiel

for the 20 Indochinese Auxiliaries Companies of the Field Bakeries page 31
the 191 men of the 711e Cie were interned into Switzerland - by deduction -> was with BOC n°10 of the 8e Armée
found the 719e Cie suffering heavy losses in Montataire near Creil the 18th may so maybe assigned to BOC n°1

about the Nurses Companies page 80 assigned to the HOE²
found only the 15e Cie in Vittel so with the HOE² n°5
13e 14e 21e Cie followed 7e Armée while 17e was with 1ère Armée...

It will be next year, indeed all three planned revised volumes will be available next year. I'll let you know when they are ready.

Hi,

COVID-19 has changed everything.

I was due to go to Paris in March but had to cancel the trip as Paris went into lockdown and the archives were shut. I lost most of my money.

With lockdowns popping up all over the place I'm not going to try again until the pandemic ends or there's a working vaccine.

For the record I got the virus in December 2019 from someone whose partner had been in China. Luckily I was only ill for a day with it.

I can't even get to the UK National Archives to do some research on the BEF as they limiting you to one visit per week and six items only. Its just not worth the expense.

In the meantime I've done some online research into other subjects for future books.

Looks like its going to be another year before the second editions will be ready.
