A US Army report mentions fighting "at the junction of highways N33-GC11", in the area east of Paris.
The N33 should be todays D 407 and D 933.
I have not been able to find any information on the GC11.
Does anyone know its location or what GC stands for?

GC11 was a road number. (Chemins de grande communication.) Not used anymore.
Trouble is they used the same numbers in each department...
Are you sure it was just East of Paris?
Below is a GC11 in Seine-et-Oise department, but that's directly West of Paris...
N33/GC11 junction I can see was in Moselle department, East of Metz.
So US Army unit and a date of the report is required to pinpoint the exact location, otherwise it's a goose chase...

The CGC (Chemin de Grande communication) n°11 was located between Versailles and Villiers-en-Désoeuvre (in the Eure department) and passed through Versailles, Saint-Cyr-l'École, Les Clayes, Plaisir, Neauphle-le-Château, Neauphle-le-Vieux, Thoiry, Septeuil, Courgent, Dammartin, Longnes,and Bréval, but that is in the West of Paris

Great, the name Chemin de Grande Communication is what I was missing.
I found one with number 11 between Épernay and Montmirail.
Today it seems to be the D 11. The junction of N 33 and GC 11 (today D 933 and D 11) is at Vauchamps.
