did the remainder of Frence Forces in the south larger or smaller than Germans ?

Before or after Dunkirk? After Dunkirk, the BEF, Belgium and Dutch armies were off the board. Large numbers of Frenchmen had been evacuated without equipment or surrendered. End result: you had German 140 Divisions vs. about 70 French Division, about 30 of which were tried up in the Maginot Line. Defeat was inevitable.
