Gentlemen,
I would like to get information on General Alessandri's military career. Especially, where he was stationed and at what dates. This information was at one time available at <http://www.generals.dk/nation/France.html>, but has since been removed. Also, my question goes beyond 1945 to Indochina. Hopefully this will not be a problem. If there is not enough information by the membership for a response, perhaps, a link to a site dealing with my request would be very much appreciated.

Alessandri Marcel, né le 23.07.1895 à Boulogne-sur-Mer ; saint-cyrien de la promotion La Grande Revanche en 1914 ; sous-lieutenant le 05.12.1914 ; lieutenant le 19.03.1916 ; Croix de Guerre 1914-1918 avec 6 citations ; chevalier de la Légion d’honneur ; au 14e B.T.S. au Maroc de 1919 à 1922 ; Croix de Guerre des T.O.E. ; capitaine le 25.03.1920 ; au Tonkin avec le 21eR.I.C. en 1922, en A.O.F. avec le 3e B.T.S. en 1923 ; au 34e B.M.I.C. puis au 29e R.I.C. en 1925, ; chef de bataillon le 25.03.1930 ; au Maroc ; chef de corps du 6e R.T.S. le 03.11.1932 ; lieutenant-colonel le 17.03.1936 ; appelé au Tonkin le 12.04.1939 ; colonel le 25.03.1941 ; chef de corps du 5e R.E.I. de fin 1940 à fin 1943 ; à la tête de la 2e brigade au Tonkin ; général de brigade le 20.05.1943 ; il échappe aux Japonais le 11.06.1945 avec une colonne qu’il emmène en Chine ; commandant supérieur des troupes françaises en Chine ; rapatrié le 23.07.1946 ; le 17.08.1948, général de division, commandant les forces terrestres en Extrême-Orient puis au Tonkin. Après le désastre de la R.C.4, il est rapatrié le 10.11.1950. Il est mis hors de cause par le rapport du Maréchal Juin. Il quitte l’armée en 1955. Grand-officier de la Légion d’honneur, avec 12 citations dont six palmes sur ses trois Croix de Guerre. Décédé en 1968.
