About 272 Demibrigades and 341e RI 1940

French used its coastal defence battalions to set up 224, 225 and 272 Demibrigades and 224 and 225 were used to build 68e DI , but I see 272 DB is attached to 68e DI up to May 10 1940 and then again on May 28 1940, exactly 272 DB is belonged to 68e DI organic establishment or completely separate unit for protection of Dunkirk ?

And another RI of 68e DI is 341e RI from Nice, is it alpine troop or DBCA previously ? Thank

hello

even if both serie B regiments were raised in 15th Region, a traditionnally "alpine" military region, the 255e and 341e RI were not alpine regiments

the 272th half-brigade was regarded as detached/attached to the 68e DI contrary to the 3 others RI wholly belonging to the Division

Hi, Loic, thank for your information. Lee Sharp book volume III mentions all 224, 225 and 272 Demibrigades were composed of coastal defence battalion, without posting organization chart, did they were all NE infantry regiment TOE or also some special equipment given their job concerning coastal defence ?
