Type of armored car in French units oversea 1940

Post by Kelvin » 24 Jan 2020 14:26

Hi, I know French 191st and 192nd Infantry divisions each had 8 x Panhard 165-/175 TOE in its GAM but I see they also had 12 x Laffly 50 armored cars in Levant, but which unit had those Laffly 50 ?

I see 3rd Africa Chasseur Regiment in Tunisia had 16 x Laffly Vincennes 80 armoured car, any other in Units ?

And also see 25 x Laffly S15 TOE in North Africa, where are they distributed ? Thank

hello

according to GBM 76 the 25 Laffly S 15 TOE for North Africa were distribued
8 to the automobile company of the 1er REI
5 to the 5th Squadron of the 1er REC
4 each to the Goum Motorisé de Tunisie, 1ère and 2e Compagnie Saharienne Portée

Both 191e and 192e GRDI had 7 Panhard TOE each while the 11 White-Laffly coming from France early june 1940 joined the 8e GAM according to GBM 120

Here is a video from Luce showing Italian forces moving forward in 1941. At 00:16 a Laffly S15 runs across the screen.

How did the Italians get this?
