USAF service man, please help with photo

There are two photos from USAF man who saw service with 73d wing at Isley Field, Saipan. Please help to id:

1) Branch of service in photo #1, winged stick and snakes - is he a medic?
2) For whar rank stands this arm patch, two stripes?

For picture number 2 it's the rank insignia of a corporal;
For picture number 1 this man is a surgeon of a medical unit.
