I’ve attached several more reports that describe the evolution and variety of tactics used by the US Army infantry, artillery and armored units to overcome the German Army defenses, especially the pillboxes, located in the Siegfried Line starting in September 1944. These reports were printed in the US Army publication ‘Battle Experiences’ during 1944 and 1945.

Attached are the final series of reports that describe the evolution and variety of tactics used by the US Army infantry, artillery and armored units to overcome the German Army Siegfried Line defenses.
I expect to obtain some additional documents in the future and will post them.
I hope the website members have found these reports useful.

Re: Development Of Siegfried Line Tactics: September 1944 To 1945
I’ve attached several pages from the 741st Tank Battalion’s September 1944 After Action Reports (AAR) that discuss the tactics used when they attacked the Siegfried Line pillboxes in mid-September 1944. The action began on September 14, 1944 and continued for the following two weeks.
This action is discussed in my previous post dated 17 October 2020. That post includes a report titled 'Infantry-Tank-Engineer Action In The Siegfried Line’ that summarizes this action and was originally printed in the US Army publication 'Battle Experiences’ on 11 October 1944.
The majority of my new pages are difficult to read but this problem can be overcome by enlarging each attachment. I will provide the remainder of the pages in my next post.

Re: Development Of Siegfried Line Tactics: September 1944 To 1945
I’ve attached the remaining pages from the 741st Tank Battalion’s September 1944 After Action Reports (AAR) that discuss the tactics used when they attacked the Siegfried Line pillboxes in mid-September 1944.
If these new pages are difficult to read, the problem can be overcome by enlarging each attachment.
