Trevor Dupuy in his book on the Battle of the Bulge (Hitler’s Last Gamble) as well as this 290th Regiment combat diary (http://75thdivisiondad.com/290thcombatdiary.htm) credit the 290th Infantry Regiment of the 75th Infantry Division with the fighting at Magôster-Beffe-Devantave in January 1945, while Theodore Draper, historian for the 84th Infantry Division’s participation in the Ardennes, credits the 335th Infantry Regiment from the 84th, in both cases in concert with CCA of 2nd AD. I’m working on a project that includes these actions and needless to say I’m a tad confused as to which to believe.

Unfortunately Staunton does not follow regimental actions in such detail. Hopefully the regimental histories can clarify this.
