Erik
Yes, I see what you mean. I was thinking in terms of map marking and not tac marking.
I think it would be safe to say they are some type of AAA symbol but what or which is up to the answer key for US maps on enemy inst at the time. The spoon shaped one (#3) has me puzzled. Sorry.
Regards
A :)

I have compared it to the German map of the same area.

Allthough the locations are not 100% similar, I think we could say that #3 is a 2 cm Flak!
The otherones would still just be guessing......

Anyway I appreciate that you`re trying to help 8)

Suggestion:
A)-Scale of crosses= chess figures. From soldier=1 to knight=2 to queen=3 to king=4 or bigger the figure than bigger the danger! (the King could be easily a 88Flak)
B)-X in a circle: generical target
C)-A in a square: prioritary target
Note:If there are bomb depots they are clearly described, so your achronymous is unuseful.
D)-D/F = Direction Finding (easy points in air landscape)
Can I do the spy?

Achronymous is a british word from ancient greek formed by 2 names
Achro = top site and Homonimous= of the same word. Simply a double shortage like AA = Anti Aerial.
What about chess? You are looking for the king (88Flak) I presume... but if the king is not there the airport was a secondary air strip (without handling units and technical services= only fast refuelling and rearming crews). Note that the 20mm batteries were located near the top of the air strips. In Italian that position is called "d' infilata"..any battery is ready to shot down incoming enemy raiders at low ceiling an high speed if parallel to air strips, one firing from left and the other from right. No chances for low raiders!
