Id. US infantry trailer
Re: Id. US infantry trailer
I occasionally come across this posting when Im searching for hand Carts. I thought I would take the time to clarify what these two carts are. Sorry if I step on any toes being a first poster and all.
The Cart is a Model 1942 Marine Corps Cart.
The two photos below are from the website historylink101. Marines were testing an Improvised Cart with a flame thrower mounted on it. Pavuvu, Russell Island

Re: Id. US infantry trailer
I have a PDF copy of the 1944 US Army field manual for these carts:
M3A4 General Purpose Cart
M4A1 30cal MG Cart
M6A1 M1 Mortar Cart
Has pictures, parts lists, specs etc.
If anyone is really interested, let me know and I'll get a copy to you.

Hi Guys
Some time ago I was looking for information on German If.8 handcarts when I came across these sites on US Army and USMC carts
http://www.theliberator.be/handcart.htm
http://www.handcartz.com/
http://handcartz.smugmug.com/
The last one has a gallery of USMC carts
http://handcartz.smugmug.com/CARTS/MARI ... 6279_m5gtp
It includes Sturm's flamthower photo

Handcartz.com is my website and Smugmug is where i store all my photos.
If anybody has a Hand Cart they want added (or corrections) to the Serial list I would appreciate the information. I pretty much only do US stuff. I really don't have enough info on foreign Carts to make a list up.

Thanks Craig

Re: Id. US infantry trailer
I just remembered where I got that 1944 cart manual.
You can download it here:
http://www.90thidpg.us//Reference/Manuals/index.html
This site has a lot of excellent WWII manuals for weapons, equipment, vehicles and training.
It also has WWII US manuals on German weapons and equipment.
Well worth a visit with a broadband connection.
