Invasion/Occupation of Japan 1945-1946

I'm wondering if you all have recommendations for books/reading about the early stages of the Allied occupation of Japan.

I'm interested especially about the initial landings, interactions/planning among Japanese and Allied officers and leadership, civilian reaction/interaction, armed incidents. What were the difficulties of language, resistant elements of the Japanese population or armed forces, Allied ground troop perception of the Home Islands, logistical accommodations.

Are there any recommended books on this subject?
