Agreed, they obviously are British and from the location of the gun and funnel in the pic this was taken on one of the 50 4-stack destroyers we traded so that we could releases British troops from guarding the Caribbean. However I would have to disagree on one point, the modification made by the British were mild in comparison to those done by the American GI.

I have in my computer files this machinegun labeled as a 7.62mm Browning-Colt M1917 (MG38 Colt).
Does somebody know how is possible to differenciate between a US standard Browning MG17 and a Colt MG38 ??
