The Pearl Harbor National Memorial along with the Aleutian Islands World War II National Monument, and Tule Lake National Monument once formed the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument established in December 2008 to commemorate the bravery and valor of American servicemen in defending the Pacific coast of the US, Alaska, and Hawai'i from Japanese invasion.
