Article leads with a picture of the "Flying Wing".

There's a little history in the narrative on these Jack Northrop predecessor aircraft.

The N-9M was built as a technology demonstrator for the B-35 flying wing bomber (designated N-9 by Northrop). I was shocked, saddened at news that the sole remaining N-9M crashed near a prison as this was the only surviving Northrop flying wing from the 1940s.
