U.S. Marine Corps soldiers were under control of the Shore Patrol , or well under the common Military Police ?

I would think under the navy, so shore patrol with the assistance of mp’s when needed...

The Marines had their own MP organization, but any MP or SP of any branch could detain any serviceman or woman if they had cause.
