Conduct of armoured or comboned arms attack of the US army
Conduct of armoured or comboned arms attack of the US army
Hi everyone,
I realised I know and could find very little on the actual manner in which US army conducted armoured or combined arms offensive activities. Could anyone enligten me or point to the right documentation? I have tactical level in mind, operational might be interesting too.
Thanks and have a good day.

Try Here: https://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/USA/ref/FM/index.html
The 17 series covers Armor, 18 series covers TD units and the 7 series is Infantry.

Are you looking for doctrinal documents, or action descriptions?

Low level action descriptions in particular. Platoon or company level. The field manuals for armoured units I got and they draw pretty neatly the formations and theory behind. Now it would be interesting to compare them to actual conduct. The campaign reports are usually too high level.Carl Schwamberger wrote: ↑28 Nov 2019, 07:00Are you looking for doctrinal documents, or action descriptions?

If you get into Hyperwar it's recommended that you have a few years to spare.
