American infantry uniforms & improvised camouflage

Hello AHF -

Can anyone comment on whether American infantry of any armed service leveraged improvised camouflage in the similar methods seen in German and British infantry? I'm referring mostly to the use of camouflage netting and foliage on helmets to conceal shape and silhouette. Was this common for American units?

Several US units in ETO used burlap and foliage garnish on helmets

Thanks @LineDoggie

Those images are great reference! Was this commonplace pre-1944 in other theatres?
