At Lanzerath Ridge 18 US soldiers held up a German paratroop battalion all day, eventually surrendering when over run for the loss of one man dead having claimed hundreds of German casualties. This reportedly had a significant effect on the development of the Battle of the Bulge.
Is there anything from the German side on this action?
