General James M. Gavin jumped into the sky over the Netherlands during Operation Market-Garden in September 1944, but who did he jump out of the plane with? Was it just a random group of soldiers, or his staff, or what?

There's a book (In fact 2 Vols) published in the "Then & Know" series, dealing with Op Market Garden, which if memory serves gives some detail on Gavin's jump etc.

Answer is in the book "Burning Bridges" by Peter Hendrikx and Michel De Trez, D-Day Publishing, 2017, ISBN 978-2-9540297-3-3, page 67.
