Hill 400 airstrike: Planes used?

If anyone in here can provide proof of what type of airplane was used to strafe german artillery positions during the battle for Hill 400 (7 December 1944, Bergstein, west Germany), I'll be amazed for sure...

Just a test to see if anyone can crack it! :)

Sorry, missed the day but read about the battle, it was described by Rangers as worse than Point du Hoc.

(Edit: Date correction)

Yeah, most likely... No Lightnings, right?

Anyway, I was just interested to see if anyone would be able to find the exact type of aircraft, just as a small "game".

But yeah, those are pretty much my "qualified guesses" as well. :)
