Hi,
I'm currently inquiring information about the american POW camp at Gotha. If anyone can provide me with any details (facts, photos, etc.) , I'll appreciate that. Since it's my former home town, I'd like to know more about it.
Thanks in advance.

Gotha
Gotha was a prisoner camp for Germans built by the Allies. Though most of us don't know it it could have matched up in conditions to the concentration camps. The POW camps at Gotha had no sort of buildings for the POWs. Instead they had to dig holes for shelter, which sometimes collapsed and the men died. Also, the POWs there were not allowed to recieve or send letters, food etc. ( Though I doubt they would want to send food )
Also Gotha is the birthplace of the Socialist Worker's Part of Germany. It was formed in the house called the Haus am Tivoli in 1875.
Hope I helped,
Zachary

Ootte,
The site that I got my info on is http://www.scrapbookpages.com/EasternGermany/Gotha/
I've searched for maps of Gotha and couldn't find anything. You could try yahoo.com, that's what I used but I didn't find anything.
Regards,
Zachary
P.S. I haven't figuered out how to use the private messenger thing yet.
