Hello,

My Great Uncle Jim Rutherford was an anti-tank soldier of the 9th Div and was definitely at Tobruk, which I believe would place him in this unit? Any references to him from that book, or confirmation would be greatly appreciated as I can't find much on the AWM site. Many thanks. My email is [email protected]

Hello TalAustralia, I can advise that I have NX465998 RUTHERFORD, Neville James who Served in 2/3 Atnk Reg, during the Siege of Tobruk period. His record is incomplete, as I need his Full Date of Death.
I anticipate this the Individual you are speaking of. If not, please advise his Service Number. I notice about 8 possibilities with First Name James.

My father joined in Brisbane in 1939, was initially in the 2/5 Field Regiment but was transferred to the 2/1st Anti Tank Regiment in the Middle East on 1/4/41.
How do I find out more details about where he might have been in the Middle East?
He sailed on ships with code names HM Transport X.I. and HMT L10, how do I find out what these Ships are called? I believe one of them might have been the Queen Mary.
Hi Pieman. My father was also in the 2/1 Anti Tank and was also on HMT L10. I am researching the 2/1 A/T in Greece. Happy to compare notes.

Hello, my grandfather served in 2/1st Anti Tank Regiment. I’m currently trying to do some research on his journey. Anyone else done something similar? I have photos from his time abroad. Shane
Hi Shane, my father was in the 2/1 Anti Tank and I am researching the Regt in Greece. Happy to compare notes, particularly if your gf was in Greece. Charlie
