if his service number starts with 395/6/7 as the first 3 digits this will show a welch regiment enlistment.

Do you have an entry date for SAS?
The enemy had superiority in numbers, his tanks were more heavily armoured, they had larger calibre guns with nearly twice the effective range of ours, and their telescopes were superior. 5 RTR 19/11/41

1st Welch spent a lot of time as lines of communication troops. Their index entry in Jocelyn Orders of Battle runs to two lines of entries. Not surprising that soldiers with get up and go left.
