Montgomery thought well of Leigh Mallory. While Leigh Mallory did not live to write his memoirs, Montgomery wasn't popular within the RAF. Leigh Mallory didn't have much influence and an unlikely champion against Tedder and Coningham.

Other way around, Tedder and Coningham were not popular with the Army :wink:

Harry Broadhurst and Monty got on very well.
