Machinegun is a Maxim fitted with a blank firing shredder. IF it is swiss, the Swiss did use the Maxim as the MG11

Hi all,

In this link http://ftr.wot-news.com/2014/05/28/swiss-tanks-part-1/ is said that Switzerland obtained some of the Carden-Loyd Mark VI light tanks in 1927-28 but the only image in this link is too blurry to can see any detail...In any case, in the image of the link is not possible appreciate a machinegun shield, as in my image....

I don't think that's a scout carrier. The side the soldier is leaning on looks too long for that.

I'd say it's more likely a BREN carrier.

Ummmhhhh. I think the Bren Gun Carrier had a metal plate sloping backwards on its left side, and the vehicle in my photo does not....

There were basically three "Carriers" the Bren Carrier had the crew compartment on the left rear, as you said; the Scout Carrier had it on the right, as in the last photograph and the Universal Carrier had it on both sides, as in the MG Carrier "C7" in the background of the last photograph.

Thanks, Alan...Although the photo does not show the rear of the vehicle very well I think the vehicle in my photo is a Scout Carrier...

Yes it is a Scout Carrier, you can clearly see the stowage box on the left side which indicates the lack of the side armour for the crew, even though there is a man sitting on the left there was no seat for him.
Another clue that the vehicles are Scout Carriers is the "2" in the Arm of Service Square. "2" indicating the Divisional Cavalry Regiment of an Infantry Division in the BEF 1939-40. Divisional Cavalry Regiments only used the Scout not the Bren Carrier.

If I'm correct and the white triangle denotes the 1st Infantry Division then the Carriers belong to 13/18th Hussars.

That is the one about which I was talking. You can clearly see the stowage box on the left side of the vehicle , under the soldier's arm. A Bren Carrier would have the armoured side of the crew compartment while the Scout has this open area which allows us to see that box.

I'd say it is definitely from a French artillery unit, the marking on the door indicating the battery within the regiment. My first blind guess would be that it is some sort of radio or other signals vehicle with the roof rack torn off.
All i have is this
red triangle on white square is artillery
