Good morning all,

The above article tells of the bombing of Darwin.

There's a picture of the bombed Bank of New South Wales.

Note the bombing's Timor reason.

Thanks for the reminder Bob
My Dad was there throughout all of the bombings.
He was an aircraft electrical fitter [LAC] in the RAAF but I remember him saying that he spent much of his time repairing the electric power lines to keep the base operational.
For many years the Australian Governments would not admit to the death toll of the air raids.
Each year, on the anniversary, a few more would be admitted to.
On hearing "the latest" figure my Dad would retort "and the rest" until they eventually reached the number he knew to be right.
