Hello together,
I do not think that there had been standard deck guns for trawlers used as A/S vessels in WW II. But does anybody know, which weapons had been the most built-in? I am searching for the weapons of the trawlers listed below.
•Larwood: built 1936 at Cochrane & Sons in Selby; Nr. 1148; fishing number GY 255
•Hammond: built 1936 at Cochrane & Sons in Selby; Nr. 1149; fishing number GY 284
•Bradman: built 1937 at Cochrane & Sons in Selby; Nr. 1167; fishing number GY 358
•Cape Siretoko: built 1939 at Cochrane & Sons in Selby; Nr. 1203; fishing number H 106
•Warwickshire: built 1936 at Smith´s Dock Co.Ld. in Middlesbrough; Nr. 998; fishing number GY 290
Best regards
Ortwin

Re: Weapons of British Trawlers in WW II
Hi Ortwin
Larwood, Hammond and Bradman were all part of the famous Cricketer group of trawlers, along with Jardine.
All were armed with 1x4"Gun with a couple of MG's for AA defence and the same for Warwickshire & Cape Siretoko

The most frequently fitted weapons at the start of the war was a twin Lewis Gun mount of WW1 vintage just like the 4” gun.
