Hmm,
They were still very formal back in the 60's and 70's. Lot's of 'Dear Molony' and 'Dear Brigadier', and a couple of 'Sirs'. The most informal header I have found so far is this one from a letter by Ronald Lewin - sorry it doesn't help much, but I will keep looking.
If I find anything more useful, I will post up here.
