Hi Guys,

The organisation most concerned with retrieving escaped and evaded Allied servicemen, MI9, was part of the British Military Intelligence service.

Was it always intended that escaped and evaded Allied servicemen should return to operational duties?

Some certainly were, but how common was it?

Was there any difference in this regard between escaped POWs and evaders who had never been captured?

We're any escaped POWs who returned to operations captured more than once?

Many thanks,

Sid
