The old Battleship Centurion (converted to a target ship pre-war) was converted early in WW2 to look like HMS Anson. She spent time in the Indian Ocean in 1942 before taking part in the Operation Vigorous convoy to Malta in June that year. She was finally sunk off Normandy as part of the Omaha Beach Gooseberry.
