Hi all, can anyone identify this British artillery piece please, caption with it says "Dock workers unloading British artillery from a ship that was in convoy WS.9AX, that arrived on the 5th August. Singapore, 7th August 1941".

Re: What gun is this
Could it be a static 3.7 inch AA gun, with its barrel removed?

This looks a better match - Australian 3.7"

Other guns were sent to Singapore, only to be captured by the Japanese.

Thank you Aber, so I'm safe in saying its a 3.7 inch. Interestingly, the site you linked mentioned that the Australians could produce the gun at a cost of £7,500, rather than the UK price of £10,000!Aber wrote: ↑23 Feb 2023 19:37This looks a better match - Australian 3.7"
