Just stumbled across this book again and remembered what a riveting read it was. It was so good that I’d like to recommend it once again. The entire book is reprinted on the internet – so the price is right. Although, it is most certainly worth paying for.

The dramatic experiences that many people lived through during the war years never cease to amaze me. The gripping account of Ron Jeffery is certainly one of those incredible stories. It most definitely rates as a MUST READ for anyone interested in this period of history.

Ron Jeffery was an English soldier captured by the Germans in 1940 in France. He escaped twice and eventually found his way into the Polish underground where he was effectively employed as a secret service agent – working right under the noses of the Gestapo. Using his talent for foreign languages, particularly German, he carried out espionage missions in Austria, Germany and Czechoslovakia.

Very well written it has the fast paced momentum of an action novel. Caution: once you start reading it will be hard to stop!
