The Building doesn't appear to be in the UK. The cars are on the wrong side of the road.
We Brit's drive on the left, not the right. :|

:? From that pic I can't make up on exactly which side of the road they're driving but it looks like they're on the left.

Well, where else in Europe could one make such photos during the war: the streets look English, de house look English, de "palace" looks English and I'm sure no German authority would agree with these soldiers being pictured on the European mainland.

I'll have to agree with Timo. All the pictures look very British to me, and I don't think we can conclude anything based on those cars.

Now since the dome isn't in centre of the "Palace" above the entrance, I was wondering whether it could be of a building in the background? Perhaps St. Paul's Cathedral in London? It looks a bit like it?

Kind Regards

Is it during the war, or is it post-war.????
de "palace" looks English

Have to disagree, it looks 'foreign' to a Brit like me :?

Post-war it was different, the German authorities had no say in the matter 8)

It seems the pics show the Dutch "Prinses Irene Brigade", a Dutch volunteers unit in the British army. Somebody suggested Belgium or France. Do the houses in the first pic (the soldiers with the car) look either British, Belgian or French? To me - but I'm no expert - they look British :)

While I have argued that the photos might not have been taken in the UK, I am not saying they weren't , just that a few minor points seem to suggest the fact.

The dome is actually part of the main building and not sticking out above the roof line.

The gate posts seem to have some sort of embossed stonework but I can't make anything out from it.
