ID of Yugoslavian guerilla leader
Can anyone identify the Yugoslavian guerilla leaders on the picture, who were liaising with the British liaison officer?
Thanks

the Partisan officer on the photos 2 and 3 is Radovan Vukanović, then-commander of the 2nd Assault Corps of the People's Liberation Army of Yugoslavia. Rather than being a liaison officer, the mustachioed figure with the resplendent plume is the CO of "Floydforce", Brigadier J.P. O' Brien-Twohig. "Floydforce" was an ad-hoc battlegroup composed of Commandos and Royal Artillery, which took part on the fighting in Herzegovina and Montenegro in late 1944 together with Vukanović's formation (photo 2 was published in Michael McConville's book A Small War in the Balkans: British Military Involvement in Wartime Yugoslavia 1941-1945)

The castle insignia was used by many units and as the Brigadier previously served with the The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers it could well be their insignia and not that of the Devonshire reg.

Now now LAstry, don’t be so hard on yourself. Anyone could have made the same assumption. The little give-away that told me it was something else than the Devonshire reg. was the little english flag flying on the middle tower.
