Mystery gun - French or Belgian?

#1

Post by B Hellqvist » 23 Jul 2017, 15:50

I have a photo of abandonded weapons, most likely taken in 1940, and judging by the Adrian helmet they are French or Belgian. Does anyone recognize the gun closest to the camera?

TIA,
Björn

Hi Björn, it looks like a French Canon De’ Infanterie Modèle 1916 TRP, but the muzzle is interesting, maybe it was used to hide the flash from the muzzle when it fired.
Here is another shot complete with gun shield.
