The Swiss and the Germans

Sorry if this doesn’t belong here!

Basically I’m looking for any information on the Swiss’ participation in World War II for the Germans. I know that a lot of them utilized their dual citizenship and joined the German side but others didn’t and sort of just went. I also know that they started revoking citizenships starting in ‘43.

Were there any instances of the Swiss fighting in their uniforms or did they have their own insignia like the Liberation armies?

Thanks ahead of time!

My take was they were sent to the Gross Deutschland regiments like most other ethnic Germans from outside the Reich.

there were 2000 Swiss nationals in the Waffen SS. You did not need to be German citizen to join the SS. Most Swiss that joined were not German either..
If you can read German: https://www.srf.ch/kultur/gesellschaft- ... dabei-sein
