What was the number of tanks produced by Turkey until 1945 (before and during the war) as well as separately the quantity supplied by other states for that period.

Hi Redright,

Turkey was the scene of an Allied-Axis bidding war and got armour from both sides.

Over February-July 1943 it got from Germany:

32 x PzKpfw.IIIJ
35 x PzKpfw.IV
3 x Command tanks.

This was more and better medium tanks than Germany had yet given to any of its allies on the Eastern Front.

By the end of 1943 the Allies had delivered:

25 x Shermans
201 x Valentines
168 x Stuarts
15 x Mk.VIB
48 x Bishops

Allied deliveries were suspended shortly afterwards when it became apparent that the Turks had no intention of entering the war.

Additionally, 100 Renault R35 were exported by the French to Turkey in 1940.
And prior to the war, in 1932 the Soviets gave the Turks 4 T-26A, 6 T-27 and 1 T-37, and in 1934 the Turks bought 64 Soviet T-26B and
34 Soviet BA-6 armored cars.
