Does any know anything more about these 2 vehicles

Nahkampf - Kanon (SPG) NK1 model 1941 and
Nahkampfkanone II "Gustav" SPG

than the small amount of info given on

http://mailer.fsu.edu/~akirk/tanks/swit ... rland.html

The chassis of the NK1 seems to be a lengthened version of the Panzerwagen Pzw.39 of which the Swis had 24. Was this adapted from one of those 24 vehicles? or was it a new build?

The chassis of the NKII is not like any other Swiss AFV I am aware of. Was it an entirely Swiss design? Was it part of a design for a tank?

what was the thinking behind developing such vehicles?

help please ...

Hi daveh

This site mentions that the NK II was also from an "improved" Pzw.39. I too fail to see the resemblance.

Hope that is of some help.

Are the pics you took from Thum?
