were the neutral swedes fearful of attack from russia?

In some extent, sure. In the past they had often had wars with old russia. and during wwII the fate of the baltic states and the war against finland. there is not so much talk about it in history, but the facts the kommunist were not trusted upon, and some were sent to camps (not concentration or penalty, more isolation-and labour) is strong witness of a fear of an invasion and a coup.

AFAIK Russian Genshtab had plans of invasion to Sweden - but the same plans i believe exist for even Nepal or Jamaica or even Venus :)
