I have the class material from a course on how to develop and present intelligence for an amphibious landing, from a USN officer's training school, c. 1956. If I haven't posted a URL by the end of May please rattle my cage.

This interesting journal linked by Dili in another thread has an article (in Italian) on the history of the Italian navy's secret service up to 1947. Starts around page 180:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/19467623/quaderno-SISM-1999
The enemy had superiority in numbers, his tanks were more heavily armoured, they had larger calibre guns with nearly twice the effective range of ours, and their telescopes were superior. 5 RTR 19/11/41

Here are a few titles on intel ops and espionage in no particulat order.

Bodyguard of lies by Anthony Cave Brown
Marching Orders: Bruce Lee
Combined Fleet Decoded: J. Prados
Deceivers: Thadeus Holt

Read a few of these so that you can understand the big picture and the scope of the conflict from the Allied side.

I have just finished a 12 year research in History of WW2 , the eastern front.
We all know of "Mincemeat" and D Day and how the Nazis made all the mistakes but very little was known as to what really took place on the eastern front. The Soviets managed to crush 70% of the German Army while loosing some 27 Million people. The Soviets never told the story and never gave the credit to the people who did it.
My research is focused on the Intelligence, the people who did the job. Surprisingly ,most of them survived the war and their share in the glory never mentioned.
A small team, smart, intelligent and creative individuals who did the utmost.
You can see more of it in my web site – WWW.ENIGMANAMEDMAX.COM

Thank you
