Diana and Zeuss (sic - not Zeus) were SD Funkspiel operations using SOE w/t sets back to Britain, 1944.

I would not be surprised if others listed were similar Funkspiel operations by the Abwehr and SD using communist, OSS, various British and French intelligence agency w/t cyphers.

Yes, most of these should be radiogames since they come from the files of Referat Vauck. Do you have a source for cases Diana and Zeuss?

This image is from a series of decoded messages by Bletchley Park, available at UK National Archives - HW 16/12.
I see ZEUS is listed here - several Gestapo men under interrogation all state ZEUSS.

Re Grossfürst

"Disciples: The World War II Missions of the CIA Directors Who Fought for Wild Bill Donovan" by Douglas Waller (Simon and Schuster) has about a page of detail.

Défense de la France was a resistance group in the occupied zone of France. They published an underground newspaper of the same name, which had one of the largest circulations of the clandestine newspapers. No information about the actual counterintelligence operation, but hope this helps.

You're welcome, paspartoo.

Also--I'm surprised I missed this the first time--'Alliance' was a large resistance network led by Marie-Madeleine Fourcade. The réseau was also known as "Noah's Ark" because the members' code names were the names of animals. If I remember correctly, the group supplied large amounts of military intelligence. If you're interested in further details, see her book Noah's Ark: The Secret Underground, which is really quite a fascinating read.

An interesting turn of events about the German use of planets for their Funkspiel operations from France.
In 1943 the Soviet agent Viktor Sukolov (known as KENT and SIERRA) then under German control (Gestapo) moved from Marseilles to Paris.
His Funkspiel operation to Moscow was known as MARS.
From the Bletchley Park intercept I posted above, I wonder whether the planets (SATURN for example) were French Communist (though Sukolov was part of Rote Kapelle in Belgium then France) and the Greeks gods/godesses were SOE and BCRA ciphers.

According to one of Bleicher's interrogation by the British after the war, GROSSFUERST was an Abwehr Funkspiel that began with the arrest of MARSAC alias END in Paris on 21 March 1943 which Bleicher "saw the possibility of realising a scheme which he had had in mind for some time, namely to go to England" as the infamous Lt Col Henri.
